Get a leg up with leggings

Today Show, May 30, 2006

Yesterday, the Today Show fashion segments, with Natalie Morales, featured one of the hottest fashion trends going on right now...

LEGGINGS!

Now get those visions of Maddona out of your head, because todays leggings have a whole new look. Not only are leggings an essential fashion foundations, they will allow you to wear all of the summers hottest looks.

Of course, Spanx leggings are the best. With a special control panel and leg smoothing power, Spanx Footless Tights make you look and feel pounds thinner! They are just amazing!

Why leggings?

Charla Krupp, executive editor of Shop Etc., states it well, ..."call it fashion defense! If you’re skirt is too short, wear leggings. If your “wobbly bits” need control, wear leggings. If you’re cold in your over-air-conditioned office, wear leggings. And if you haven’t bothered to shave, wear leggings."

Summer Tip #1- How to wear white...

On a trip to New York city last Tuesday, I passed by an entire block of window displays that were done entirely in white. It was stunning.

The clothing was all white, the accessories were white, everything in the windows was white. So crisp, so clean, so fresh, so summery, so...

UNFORGIVING...

In our boutique, we are selling lots of white. I love it. But, I wont let our customers leave without the right undergarments. The right shapewear is essential for wearing summer whites without getting arrested for...

INDECENT EXPOSURE!

So, here are some great tips for looking fabulous in white this summer
  • If fair skinned, try putting on a tinted moisturizer first so you won't wash out and maybe just a touch of pink makeup to look healthy and robust.
  • Makeup in general should be light. Sheer eyeshadows matched with some mascara and a neutral-hued lip color could easily cover it. Women of color should wear bronze and brown colors to avoid looking "ashy."
  • Wear metallic accessories -- silver jewelry, sandals, purses and belts work well.
  • Accessorize with color so it isn't so stark. I like wood bracelets or maybe turquoise jewelry
  • White shoes can make your feet look bigger, so either wear a sandal (so that some of your natural skin tones show) or wear tones that are close to your flesh tone.

And, here's the BIGGEE...

  • Don't get arrested for indecent exposure! All those light, frothy skirts need to either be lined or worn with sheer undergarments. Body Wrap Seamless Shapewear has an amazing selection of shapers that will give you a smooth, firm, sexy silhouette under any whites.

One last word of caution. When buying your undergarments, select a color that is closest to your skin tone. Beige, nude and cocoa are great choices.

So, go ahead. Look hot wearing the sizzling white fashions of the summer!

NBC's fashion editor's concise advice...

Lloyd Boston lives, breathes and eats fashion. He is one of the most respected fashion editors in the industry today, and has incredible influence. He is currently the fashion editor of NBC's "Today Show", and has just completed his third fashion advice how-to book.

Recently, a national media interview posed some straight-shooting, no-nonsense fashion questions to Lloyd.

From a man who's livelihood and international reputation is based on making people looking fabulous, consider the following:

Q:What's your style advice for the season?

A. If you're going to [wear] a skirt, make sure it doesn't look Amish. Also, Spanx is something I really believe in.

There you have it. Lloyd knows what works, and "really believes" (in his own words), in the amazing transformation that you will experience instantly from wearing Spanx slimming undergarments.
